I know I promised more about Africa and I will keep my word. I am hoping time will lend the words to capture the expanse of landscape, the sound of nothing and the moments around the camp fire. I miss the feeling of utter presence of being. Being with people who matter most. Without the distraction, without the noise. In the meantime, I celebrate a very special birthday girl today. This photo, taken just miles outside of Cape Town, reminds me of her. In the midst of busy life and amusing chaos, she emits the essence of this photo. Calm and serene, beautiful and breathtaking.
